SAN BENITO -

The Assistant Curator and curatorial assistants from the Border Studies Archive in the Library at the University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) in Edinburg are in the process of helping the Texas Conjunto Music Hall of Fame & Museum clean, organize, and preserve thousands of valuable artifacts stored in the archives of the San Benito History Museum.

"Besides being the Conjunto Hall of Fame and Museum, part of our mission is to be a resource center where anybody can go when they want to know about the history of Conjunto," said Texas Conjunto Hall of Fame and Museum President Rey Avila. "Our main concern is that we would have the information and records in another place, and that was the perfect place. We now have two facilities to utilize."

Avila was referring to the UTPA Border Studies Archive, located at the campus library.
